Gouyave Improvement
Committee receives award
in Trinidad.

2007- St. George's:
On Friday 31st August,
the town of Gouyave
received the PIERROT
AWARD in Trinidad. The
Pierrot award was given
as part of Trinidad’s
45th Independence
celebrations. The
function was organized
and hosted by Gayelle TV
to recognize community
groups and individuals
who have contributed
significantly to the
development of their
community. Gayelle TV is
a community TV station
which operates in
Trinidad and whose
signal is carried into
Grenada by CableVision
The Gouyave Improvement
Committee and
Gogouyave.com received
high praise for
promoting the town and
its people; the
reorganization of
Fisherman Birthday; the
distribution of school
supplies to needy
children; hosting of
Medical teams in the
parish; involvement in
the Fish Friday
festival, and the use of
the website were some of
the reasons for this
award.
Accepting the award on
behalf of the Gouyave
Improvement
Committee was Arthur
Hosten who expressed his
gratitude on behalf of
the people of Gouyave.
He urged other groups
and individuals not to
give up because of
critics but to forge
along with the goal of
making a difference in
their community.
